As we welcome a new school year Promesa Community School Coordinator Irma organized a "Cafecito With Promesa" for parents, staff, and partners to welcome everyone to a new school year and re-introduce her role at Hollenbeck. Last June Promesa Boyle Heights and its partners embarked on a pilot program at Roosevelt and Mendez High School that offered workshops and panel discussions to graduating youth in the areas of college resources, financial literacy and worksource services. Celebra! East L.A. Resource Guide Launch
Last July Boyle Heights and East L.A. residents, alongside our early education team, InnerCity struggle, Proyecto Pastoral, and First 5 Best Start East LA celebrated the launch of the East L.A.’s Resource Guide. The residents of East L.A. identified the need for an all inclusive guide to help them navigate the resources available to them.
